Overview
Goryu & Hakuba 47 are one combined ski area at the Southern end of the Hakuba Valley connected at the top of the mountain.
These two sides are quite different and complement each other, offering a good variety of piste runs, freestyle park features, a small amount of off-piste tree runs and extensive backcountry terrain.
There are no accommodations on the Hakuba 47 side but the Goryu side has two base area villages called Kamishiro & Iimori.
Kamishiro is a picturesque woodland village with a few authentic local restaurants. The village features a mix of ski in / ski out and forest retreat accommodations within a short walk from the ski lifts.
The Hakuba Ryojin Obuya Onsen is one of the largest in the Hakuba Valley and the Hotel Stelle Belle Onsen offers the unique experience of bathing in giant reclaimed miso barells!
Iimori is largely residential and offers few holiday accommodations but does feature the popular Hakuba Snowsports ski school.
The area offers an affordable stay option for large groups and families.
