Wadano offers a wide range of accommodation options, from stunning luxury chalets, ski in / ski out apartment buildings to luxury hotels and cosy lodges; there really is something for everyone.
The Upper Wadano area enjoys easy access to the beginner-friendly piste runs whilst Lower Wadano combines a peaceful forest setting with easy access to the restaurants, nightlife and amenities of neighbouring Happo One village.
Wadano is a great choice for families taking ski lessons and large groups wanting to stay together in spacious accommodations.
Where is Wadano?
Located to the North of Happo One village, Wadano is the beautiful forested area running from the Kokusai ski lifts to the Sakka ski lifts at the base of the Happo One ski resort on one side and bordered by the Matsu River on the other.
Wadano can be thought of in two distinct neighbourhoods. Lower Wadano is the area bordering Happo One village and running up as far as the Kokusai ski lifts and Upper Wadano heading North from the Sakka ski lifts.
Wadano is connected to the rest of the Hakuba Valley villages and ski resorts via the Hakuba Valley shuttle bus service. To reach some of the further locations, a change of bus at Happo One may be required.
Tokyu Haneda and Tokyo Narita are the closest airports and can be reached in 5 hours by road or 3.5 to 4 hours by train. Nagano is the closest major city at 1.5-hour drive.
